Professional Activities

Attorney Dean C. Werst began practicing in Portland, where served clients in real estate, criminal law, domestic relations, and estate planning. He opened his office in Tualatin in 1973 and practiced there until April, 2000, when he moved to the historic Willamette District in West Linn, Oregon, where he now practices.

During Law School, Mr. Werst worked at a general insurance agency owned by the U-Haul Corporation. He managed all trailer loss claims throughout the country and managed U-Haul employee health benefits plans.

Later, he joined a title company as an examiner until he graduated from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College. While attending Law School he worked for U.S. Bank in their loan department. As a younger man, he was involved with his parents' farming operation in Eastern Oregon.

His activities as a lawyer include the following:

  1. Charter Member and President of Tualatin Business Association;
  2. Chairman of Tualatin Park Board;
  3. Tualatin Lions Club;
  4. Secretary of Meridian Park Hospital Board;
  5. Member of Meridian Park Hospital Foundation Board;
  6. President of Oregon Cystic Fibrosis Foundation;
  7. Current Member of Meridian Park Hospital Bio-Ethics Committee;

Aside from his legal duties, Mr. Werst and his wife are involved with their longstanding gift and art gallery in Newberg, Oregon.
